Oak Park is a congregation made up of all types of people from all walks of life: some wear suits, and some wear jeans, some are older and some are younger. You come in whatever attire you feel most comfortable. The services are a blend of older and newer songs with the only criteria being that whatever type of music we sing it lift high the name of Christ Jesus and be done with excellence. The sermon typically goes about 30 minutes and is usually a verse-by-verse explanation of a particular Bible passage with illustrations and application sprinkled throughout. There’s a lot of characteristics that will probably come to your mind once you visit but the one that will probably stick out the most is that “this church loves people,” and it’s absolutely true – not just because that’s on our church website or bulletin (though it is) but because our people attempt to reflect the great, faithful and majestic love that God has shown us through His Son Jesus.
