In October 1954 Oak Park Baptist became a mission church sponsored by Ninth and O Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Then in 1956 Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky took over as our sponsor church. Walnut Street bought three acres of land on Allison Lane that became the future site of Oak Park Baptist Church. In 1980 a new sanctuary was built and in 2004 the need for additional educational and recreational space was needed so Oak Park built an activity center and Sunday School rooms for preschool, children and students.
