EVANGELISM is…

God’s act of working through believers empowered by the Holy Spirit to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to every person and people group with the purpose to persuade the lost to come to salvation.

Evangelism is every believer's responsibility. Our vision for Evangelism is to instruct and equip Oak Park Baptist Church members in the obedient pursuit of the Great Commission Jesus Christ gave to His disciples (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) in order to see the people of God in revelation (Revelation 7:9). Our philosophy of ministry regarding biblical evangelism is as follows:

God-centered, not man-centered
Theology-driven, not method-driven
Discipleship-oriented, not decision-oriented
