New Discipleship Classes
Our third quarter Discipleship Classes will start on Sunday, March 4. The classes that will be offered are:

Bible - Old Testament part 2 - (Teachers: Mike Bauslaugh & Norman Leach)

  • Gain an understanding of the storyline of the Old Testament, examining the overarching message that is conveyed in the Scriptures. This class will focus on Job through Malachi.

Theology - Doctrine of God - (Teachers: Nathan Hunter & Logan Preston)

  • A study of the Doctrine of God. Join us as we answer questions such as: How do we know God exists? Can we really know God? How is God different from us? How is God like us?

Christian Disciplines - Biblical Stewardship - (Teachers: David Lewis, Jr. & Michael Britton)

  • Through a study of Scripture and Randy Alcorn's book, Managing God's Money, we will seek to develop a biblical understanding of money and possessions along with practical means for stewarding your money for God's glory.

Relationships - The Fear of Man - (Teachers: Kirby O'Brien & Jody Thomas)

  • “Need people less. Love people more." Explore the biblical principles of how to (and how to help others) overcome peer pressure, codependency, and the fear of man. Join us for a study of Edward Welch's book, When People are Big and God is Small.

Leadership - Church Leadership - (Teachers: Shane Parker & Gary Yochum)

  • Equipping Oak Park Leaders with a biblical philosophy of leadership, an understanding of Oak Park's Philosophy of Ministry, and tools to pour into those they lead.

Haiti Mission Trip Info Meeting
There will be a brief meeting after the worship service this Sunday, February 18, for anyone who wants more information about our Haiti Mission Trip. They will meet in room #122.

Facility Informational Meeting
If you are interested in, or are already involved in the Facility Ministry, there will be an informational meeting on Sunday, February 25 immediately after the Worship Service in the fellowship hall, room #122. Areas of interest are fellowships, grounds and maintenance, and janitorial. Anyone who would like to serve in any of these areas or find out more information please attend. Leader's Meeting
There will be a leader’s meeting (Elders, Deacons, and Team Leaders) on Wednesday, February 21 at 8:15 PM in room #203 upstairs. All church members are welcome to attend.

Choices Lunch and Learn
You are invited to join us for lunch at CHOICES in Corydon on Wednesday, February 21, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. This free educational event is held the third Wednesday of each month. Come for a tour of our facility at 101 Hwy 62 W, Suite 101, and see for yourself the difference partnerships make in the lives of hundreds of families in our community. Teaching Needs at Louisville Rescue Mission and Southern Indiana Rescue Mission
We just finished reviewing our class schedules and would like to put several different opportunities before you. Please see the information below. Also, be sure to carefully read the description for teaching volunteers as well as our volunteer handbook (both attached).
If any of these options match your interests and availability, simply respond to this email with your class preference(s). We will schedule a time for you to interview with the appropriate program manager and then determine next steps. If none of these options are a good fit for you right now, don't worry - we'll hold onto your contact information and reach out as additional opportunities become available.
Biblical Characters

  • Campus: Louisville
  • Audience: Men in the LifeChange program
  • Schedule: Mondays from 3 to 4 p.m. (ongoing)
  • Availability: Can begin immediately
  • Class Description: Starting in Genesis with Adam, this class will study how God  nteracts with key biblical figures. The class will observe the failures, faith, and promises of these figures.

Biblical Manhood

  • Campus: Louisville
  • Audience: Men in the LifeChange program
  • Schedule: Tuesdays from 8 to 9 a.m. for 8 weeks (then 8 weeks off)
  • Availability: Will begin late April
  • Class Description: This class will study the biblical, character-based definition of manhood to promote health, peace, and joy in our lives. Special attention will be paid to the roles and responsibilities of husbands and fathers.

Crossroads: Addiction Recovery

  • Campus: Southern Indiana
  • Audience: Individuals referred by local churches and agencies for prevention services
  • Schedule: One evening a week (ongoing)
  • Availability: Will begin early spring
  • Class Description: Using a nationally-recognized curriculum, this small group helps break the chains of addictions that lead to emptiness, destruction, and death.

Jobs for Life

  • Campus: Southern Indiana
  • Audience: Women preparing to exit the Clark County Jail in Indiana
  • Schedule: Monday and Friday afternoons for 8 weeks
  • Availability: Will begin late February
  • Class Description: Using a nationally-recognized curriculum, this class helps people find employment, learn God's gift of work, receive a supportive community through mentorship, and experience life in Christ.

Raising Highly Capable Kids

  • Campus: Southern Indiana
  • Audience: Families referred by local churches, schools, and agencies for prevention services
  • Schedule: One evening a week for 13 weeks
  • Availability: Will begin late summer/early fall
  • Class Description: Using a nationally-recognized curriculum, this class focuses on equipping parents to fully engage with their children, using relevant research and sound, biblical practices

The ESL Ministry is looking for more teachers to help on Wednesday Nights from 6:30–8:00pm. No Spanish speaking skills are needed. You only need to have a basic level of English Comprehension. Choices Life Resource Center
Please return you Baby Bottle, full of change, by Sunday, March 4 for the Choices Life Resource Center. They also accept checks (payable to Choices).
Join us each Sunday morning at 8:15 am in the young adult Sunday school room #209, located on the second floor. We will be praying for our  worship service, our church, the community around us, and the nations.
