Getting Ready for Missions Sunday
This Sunday is “Missions Sunday” and there are several things I want to keep you aware of. First, our Sunday School hour will be slightly different. Our children will hear from a some of our high school students share about their mission trip to Haiti. Our middle school and high school students will hear from a few of our young adults who went on mission to various places this summer. Finally, our adults will meet in the Worship Center to listen to a panel consisting of several Missions Organizations that we’ve partnered with over the last year.
During the worship service, we’ll continue our missions focus as we worship through song and hear the Word taught. Our preacher will be Rick Cornish, President of Teaching Truth International. He’ll challenge us to consider why it’s important to be involved in missions. At the conclusion of our service, we’ll then respond through giving to the Antioch Offering. As with our other missions’ offerings, we’ll come down front to place our gifts in the baskets setup on stage.
It is our goal to raise $12,000 to fund the direct missions and outreach efforts of Oak Park Baptist Church. These efforts include our work with The Haiti Collective, Choices Resource Center, Southern Indiana Rescue Mission, Jeff High Football outreach, ministry to the Clark County Jail, and support for you to go on various mission trips around the world.
Please pray, seeking God’s guidance in how you can give. And pray that God would use our gifts to further the spread of the Gospel for the sake of Jesus name!
Until He Comes,
